Chef's noodle!

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

I had a date with Andi yesterday, we were supposed to try this new Korean resto with Pauline but she bailed out on us.. actually no, she didn't bail out.. she just didn't show up! haha Anyways, we had fun nonetheless. Plus this resto is unbelievably super affordable! Like literally bat shit affordable.

"Chef's noodle is a fast-casual dining restaurant concept whose core products are noodles, sushi, and rice meals. Its signature dish, Chef’s Noodle, has been a popular favorite in Korea… and now the Philippines.  Chef’s Noodle is also the home of the famous Starking Fire Sushi — the first of its kind… only at Chef’s Noodle.  All of its menu offerings are master creations of its celebrity Chef, Choi In Sun, that are exclusive to all Chef’s Noodle. Chef’s Noodle is not just another ordinary Korean restaurant; Chef’s Noodle is a brand that offers great experience to a variety of unique and appealing food choices that are truly value for money.  At Chef’s Noodle, dining is always a delightful experience — from the friendly and courteous staff to the healthy and appetizing food selection, our customers will surely keep coming back. Experience healthy Korean cuisine at its best…only at Chef’s Noodle."

I don't know what else to say about this resto but I think that the concept of the resto or the interior as it is, is really cool and I love it. It has this cozy and homey feeling that I really dig.

My current skin care routine! :)

Monday, August 26, 2013

Hello beauties!! Atlast, I can finally blog about my skincare routine.. this has been on my draft list for like a month now and since I'm almost over with these bottles I think it's about time for me to do some reviews. Lately, I've been obsessed with different new products that I actually want to try them all. But then I still have some products left that I need to finish so I am saving those products for laters, baby! lol

So expect another blog about my updated skincare soon.  First thing that you should know first and foremost before you buy anything else for your skin.. is that you must must know first what your skin type is like. It might be from normal to dry skin or from normal to oily skin, or maybe just plain oily skin, super acne prone skin or hyperpigmentation/blemishes prone kind of skin, or combination types etc. There are tons of skin type and mine is just normal to slight sensitive/oily skin-- what a classic combo!

my skincare products:

Ofcourse, for my facial wash.. I use Avene cleanance gel at the moment. I am actually running out of this one (as seen here) so now I'm looking for a new facial wash to try.. I do have some on my mind but I'm still searching for more. Or else, I might have to buy a new bottle of this. Hence, this facial wash is really good for my skin, and it didn't break me out or anything.. but the price is a little too steep for me.

I use this facial cleansing brush with my avene especially when I feel like my skin needs to breathe or to exfoliate. I basically use this just once everyday, preferably when I came home from school.. or when I'm too lazy to go through other skincare routine like removing my make-up and stuff. This facial brush works wonders and its a really good alternative for the clarisonic, it removes dirt and some other pore-clogging debris and buff away the dead skin cells leaving your skin smooth and squeaky clean. Plus it's super affordable!
It's really important that we buff away the dead skin cells and exfoliate our face once in awhile because as we all know those dead skincells are preventing the newer ones to grow. FYI: "An average adult can shed up to 50,000 dead skin cells every minute." Icky! imagine those dead skin cells all over your face clogging up your pores and giving you break outs! it's crazy.. that's why it's important that we exfoliate our skin on a regular basis to shed off those stubborn dead skin cells.

But then we should also know that too much exfoliating can lead to broken capillaries, excessive dryness and  irritation especially if you have a sensitive skin.. There's a fine line between exfoliating your skin and damaging your skin so I suggest exfoliate your skin atleast twice a week at most. or once if you have a really sensitive skin... but this facial brush though can be use everyday for those who have normal skins. I would also suggest that if you want to use a facial cleansing brush, try using it atleast once every other day and avoid brushing your eye area because it's far too sensitive and doesn't need exfoliation.

Honestly, for the first two weeks of using this facial brush I had breakouts, or mini zits from time to time which is normal according to dermatologist Jason Emer, "At the beginning, your skin might flare, probably within the first two weeks," he said. "The dead skin cells that are being sloughed off plug up your pores. But as your skin gets used to it, your pores become more open and there will be fewer dead skin cells to exfoliate, so you'll be less likely to have breakouts." and true enough after those breakouts, my skin has never felt this good and cleared up. I can honestly say that this helped my skin a lot.. But before I use this facial brush on my face I always make sure to pour some hot water over it first just to kill all the germs.

and then I would use this little facial sponge to dry up my face. I don't use flannels or wash cloth as it tends to scratch my skin. You can buy this from the Etude house.. I disinfect this and change atleast once a month.

This facial sponge can be use as a cleansing sponge as it is.. it's actually called the cleansing puff, but I prefer to use it just to dry my face. It's really really soft and I believe it can't harm your skin! I love this so much.

ofcourse after cleansing, here comes the TONER. I use this Kiehl's toner called the Rare Earth pore refining toner.  I blogged about this here and it's honestly one of the best I've tried so far. It's a dual phase toner formulated with oil-absorbing Amazonian white clay to refine pores and control shine. It might be a little too drying that's why it's important to put a moiturizer after.
I use this cotton for my toner.. it's important to get a thin cotton pad so it doesn't absorb to much product. The thinner the better! keep that in mind.
But sometimes I only use my hands and pat it all over my face because it feels so good! and I feel like by doing so, my face absorbs the product more plus I get to massage my face a bit.

"Moisturizing Essence containing the extract from Korean snail slime(80%) with a great self-healing ability and botanical stem cell ingredient, Phyto-Callus Complex, help skin regeneration."

I honestly don't do this a lot but serum is good for the face and I use this Tony moly serum with live snail essence at the moment because it's anti wrinkle and whitening plus skin repairing. It is a highly concentrated skin rejuvenating and nourishing serucontaining snail mucus filtrate that gives self repairing and strengthening power to the skin. It's good for treating some stubborn and dark acne spots.

For my moisturizer I use this Shiseido white up emulsion.. I know emulsion is something you wear before the moisturizer but for some reason this can be a moisturizer/emulsion.. it has a thick consistency and I blogged about this here. This is also good to use if you have dark spots on your face. This prevents the problem of pigmentation and helps to clear up uneven and dull skin tone that caused by the sun exposure.

Eye cream.. I use this fresca restore me soothing eye gel II as my eye cream at the moment.. although I'm still looking for a good eye cream out there preferably an anti-wrinkle one. I love this eye gel though because it's really soothing for the eyes, and it has a cooling effect and has a fruity scent!

That's all about it for now! I know that my current skincare routine is very basic and I honestly can't wait to try other products out there and find out which really suits my skin really well..

care to share/suggest other products out there that I should try? x

Imperial Waterpark Resort & Spa (Cebu)

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

During our first day in Cebu, (right after from the airport and chillin for a bit) we headed straight here at the Imperial Waterpark Resort & Spa for addy's 3rd birthday celebration! This waterpark resort is the first and only waterpark resort in Cebu. One of the classiest and finest resort and spa if I may say. The view at the lobby was just so breath taking.. and I just couldn't wait to dive in the pool and take selfie shots. lol :p
at the lobby

This waterpark Resort & Spa has 556 elegantly furnished rooms ( 128 deluxe rooms, 380 suites, 48 pool and  jacuzzi villas) They basically have available Deluxe rooms, Suites (Mactan Suite, Cebu Suite, Imperial Suite, Executive Suite, Royal Suite), and Villas.

we were supposed to stay at one of the villas (Villas range from Php28k-P30k/night) but I think they don't have a vacant one.. Yes because during that day the waterpark was just oh my gosh jampacked with koreans! Yup you heard that right.. koreans and I am not even kidding.. I think we were the only Filipinos out there and ofcourse the staff were Filipinos, but the rest of the guest? all koreans!
So we got this suite room (Php18k/a night) that has 2 large rooms, a king-sized bed and two twin beds, 2 bathrooms complete with bathtubs, separate shower and toilet. A balcony, living room area, guest restroom, and a mini pantry. We stayed at the room with the king-sized bed with my cousin. And I just love how comfy the bed was! and ofcourse our bathtub was huge. haha
The waterpark features 5 different huge themed pools.

D.I.Y Tinted moisturizer!

Monday, August 19, 2013

I love my Pure radiant NARS tinted moisturizer which was a gift from my cousin and I use this everyday! The good thing about this tinted moisturizer is that it has SPF30 and this could help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots in just four weeks. Plus it gives me a luminous skin and it absorbs quickly. Whenever I would look for a product, I always opt for something that has SPF on it.. you know just to protect my face from the sun. And having an SPF to your foundation or moisturizer just cut out one extra step of getting ready which is skipping the sunscreen. Saves time and money!

Today, I will be sharing one of the best and easiest DIY's out there! The D.I.Y tinted moisturizer.

You only need a few things..

  • moisturizer (I'm using OLAY complete that has SPF19 on it.)
  • BB cream/Liquid foundation (I'm using this mineral power foundation in Porcelain Ivory because I am such a snowball. lol This was a gift from my boyfie, and it has SPF18)
  • Foundation brush or cotton buds for stirring.
  • An empty jar or container

Simple steps:

  • Put an equal parts of moisturizer and foundation
  • mix well.
  • It's done. phew!

Look how luminous it made my face. I also tried to put some on my hand and it was very radiant and awesome on my skin. I love this and it's a must-have when you're running late for school or work because you can just pretty much skip the sunscreen and your moisturizer.. because this one is an all in one beauty! x

I would like to hear some of your time saving ideas, beauty tips, and D.I.Y's! :)

Chelsea Market and Cafe (Serendra Piazza)

Sunday, August 11, 2013

Just wanted to re-post this since I've been badly craving to eat at Chelsea again. It's been awhile since I last visited serendra or even the fort. It's such a shame that I've been crazy busy lately because of the school and my beloved thesis! ugh.. I hate thesis!

and I hate the fact that school has been eating up my time and that I don't even have any free time to catch up with the world. lol I am such a lonely person.. I know I am over reacting here.. well, I'm just so fed up really.

Anyways, here are some of the photos that I've surprisingly kept through the years. haha I posted these at my old blog but I just thought about re-posting these photos again for this blog. I love love the food at Chelsea and most especially the interior. I've seen the Chelsea's Branch at Podium but I never had the chance to visit... hopefully, soon.

Chelsea's lovely interior.
They actually sell local and foreign condiments/ingredients.

The complimentary bread with roasted garlic bulb, and balsamic vinegar dip!

molten cheese risotto balls (Php295) I personally love this! I think that the crispy or crunchy exterior just compliments the super soft risotto filled inside of these balls.

23 random what the facts about me!

Friday, August 9, 2013

I just thought about doing this since it's been awhile since I last had and updated my "random facts about me". So yeah here goes:

  1. First thing that you should know about me is that... I am damn obsessed with FRIES!!! I love fries and I just can't eat a burger without fries. I find it really boring without fries.. I also eat fries with rice. I know it's weird.. but yeah fries has been an old faithful ever since. It's kind of a problem!

  2. As much as I am obsessed with fries, I am also obsessed with PIZZA. Pizza is my life.

  3. I freaking love DONUTS. They are my soulmate.

  4. I am definitely not a fan of sodas. I only drink coke whenever I eat at fast food restos.. but the rest I always opt for water! WATER is good. The more water you drink, the more hydrated your skin will be.

  5. I am naturally curly. And I am actually planning to just maintain my curly hair as it is. Yup. I am saying NO to rebonding and shiz.

  6. I love ramen, miso ramen is the bomb!

  7. Whenever I would visit a cupcake store, I always go for the Red Velvet cupcake.. you know it's just my way of comparing whether they really have better cupcakes than all the rest. Yup so red velvet is the real deal! haha

  8. I LOVE TEA. I'm sure everyone knows about this already.

  9. I take pills because I am an insulin resistant and my hormones are not normal, meaning I have more male hormones in my body. Icky! So it's really hard for me to lose weight because of the Pills and my health problems. phew! But now I stopped because I had to lose weight for the summer.

  10. Despite the fact that I have insulin resistance problem (which we all know could cause obesity and diabetes) I am still obsessed with sweets! I just maintain my weight over the years just to feed my sweet tooth's craving.

  11. I have problems with just sitting down after I eat.. I just hate the feeling of having a full stomach so I always walk around the house for an hour or so before I can finally sit.

  12. I hate exercising. Yup there you go! Judge me.. but I know someday I will find enough courage to do so. Hopefully soon.. I'll try running with my two time 42 km finisher champ boyfie when he gets back!

  13. I hate smokers. Period!

  14. I love my alone time. I tend to shut people out. I am such a loser like that.

  15. I go to the grocery stores almost everyday! It's my favorite place to hang-out. haha

  16. I am a born again christian by heart.

  17. Getting old. Wrinkles. Premature lines. Ageing skin.. etc. Scares the shit out of me! Because you know, there's this gummy girl who's probably on her late 20's but she looks way way older than her age. She looks 35+ something.. Scary! That's why right now, I'm obsessing with different skin care products because I believe that prevention is better than cure. I wanna look really young for as much as I could.

  18. I know how to RAP. And I am pretty good at it. ha!

  19. I am obsessed with calamares! yum.

  20. I don't usually eat PORK. I can only eat pork when it's a processed hotdogs, ham, spam.. but not like a hardcore pork right infront of my face. Especially the lechon! Oh my gosh.. I just can't do it. Nope.. I am not putting that thing on my mouth!

  21. I am obsessed with babies! and I wanna be a mom someday. That's actually one thing I am looking forward the most. In God's perfect time I know He'll give us one.

  22. I am crazy inlove with my current beau right now and I can honestly say that I think he's the one. Yup I am such a crazy blessed girlfriend for having such a man like him. Cheesiness overload!

  23. As much as I am scared of heights.. I secretly want to be a flight attendant! haha kidding! nope. totally not kidding and not just secretly. I so wanna be a flight attendant! I don't know.. there's just something about their uniform that makes them so fab. lol

Dolce cafe

Monday, August 5, 2013

While we were on our way to the TOPS (an overlooking place) we stopped by at this very classy cafe called Dolce. One of the finest and favorite dessert places in Cebu. Located at Nivel Hills Lahug before going to the Marco polo hotel. We just actually wanted to try whether they really have good cakes.
Dolce is an Italian word which means gently and sweetly.

I like the upscale modern design/architecture of the cafe and how it gives the feeling of an art exhibit theme.  It's so spacious and all white. I didn't get to take photos of the outside lounge of the cafe but it was really pretty and over-looking.. I think they also have a milk tea station outside and all other idk and all were owned by one family.

here's an overview of Dolce! nice isn't it?

The special two ♥

"The Special Two"

I've hardly been outside my room in days,
'Cause I don't feel that I deserve the sunshine's rays.
The darkness helped until the whiskey wore away,
And it was then I realized the conscience never fades.

When you're young you have this image of your life,
That you'll be scrupulous and one day even make a wife.
And you make boundaries you'd never dream to cross,
And if you happen to you wake completely lost.

But I will fight for you,
Be sure that I will fight
Until we're the special two once again.

And we will only need each other, we'll bleed together,
Our hands will not be taught to hold another's,
'Cause we're the special two.
And we could only see each other, we'll breathe together,
These arms will not be taught to need another's,
'Cause we're the special two.

I remember someone old once said to me
That lies will lock you up with truth the only key.
But I was comfortable and warm inside my shell,
And couldn't see this place could soon become my hell.

So is it better to tell and hurt or lie to save their face?
Well, I guess the answer is don't do it in the first place.
I know I'm not deserving of your trust from you right now,
But if by chance you change your mind you know I will not let you down
'Cause we were the special two, and we'll be again.

And we will only need each other, we'll bleed together,
Our hands will not be taught to hold another's,
'Cause we're the special two.
And we could only see each other we'll breathe together,
These arms will not be taught to need another's...
We're the special two.

I step outside my mind's eyes for a minute.
And I look over me like a doctor looking for disease
Or something that could ease the pain.
But nothing cures the hurt, you, you bring on by yourself,
Just remembering, just remembering how we were...

When we would only need each other, we'd bleed together,
Our hands would not be taught to hold another's,
We were the special two.
And we could only see each other, we'd bleed together,
These arms would not be taught to need another's,
'Cause we're the special two.

Blessed to be with the same guy for 1 year and 6 months.
and those days were the best days of my life..

Azucar Boulangerie and Patisserie

Sunday, August 4, 2013

Azucar is a spanish word means Sugar. This new little pink boulangerie and patisserie near Robinsons magnolia is definitely a must try. Not only they have a really good set up but they also have yummy and affordable cakes that would make your sweet tooth really happy on a budget! (plus its a WIFI ready) definitely a new hang-out place for Paulinians and crazy cake addicts!

As you walk inside the patisserie.. these gorgeous cakes will be the first one to greet you.
Not only they sell cakes but they also have breads and cookies.. well obviously as boulangerie means breads/bakery. You can also buy the most raved about Speculoos cookie butter by Trader Joe for P500!

Bantayan Island a.k.a Sugar Beach!

Thursday, August 1, 2013

Bantayan Island has the best sand bar I have ever been so far..

The Sugar beach! it's located at Sta. Fe northern part of Cebu. We stayed here for two nights and it has the longest shoreline I've ever seen, it was pure God's perfect creation. The water is just incredible and I just love love everything about this beach. The weather, the food, the white sand, the waves, everything! I just hope the government could see so much potential and will allot time and money to develop this beach, I mean if given a chance? I certainly think that this Bantayan beach will be so much better than Boracay! This will be a good investment for the country. Tourism will be so much better! I believe Philippines has a lot of beautiful beaches to offer including this one. We just don't have the money to develop such beaches. What a sad reality..
During our second day, I woke up feeling a little bit excited to walk in the morning and see what the beach has to offer. I put on my sunglasses, sunblock and my roxy dress. While I was walking a little bit further from where we stayed I noticed such a pool or lake looking like kind of thing or whatever (?) but it was so fascinating to see.. and I really wonder how that happened but it was so beautiful and really cool! The kids were playing at this pool-like so it was actually really good.
