DIY: Green Tea Ice cubes (toner)

Monday, September 23, 2013

What's up girlies? Today I just want to share with you guys this very effective toner that I currently been obsessed with! Since I just ran out of my Kiehls toner, I did my own home made toner that not only is effective in tightening your pores but also very affordable! We all know that Ice facials are very popular in Asia.. In fact, I've seen BeautyQQ having her own Ice facial after her laser acne treatment and michellephan also did her own!  Now, when I was in high school, I used to run ice cubes all over my face just for fun and just to give myself a bit of a cold facial, but then I realize that I haven't done this in a while so last week I decided to make my own Green Tea Ice cubes with my holy grail product--- Jason Vitamin E oil. :)

Toner is actually made just to tighten the pores.. so why spend money if you can make your own right?

So here's what you need:
 *Green tea
* Plastic wrap
* Ice cube tray
* Toothpick (optional)
*Vitamin E oil (optional)

First: Brew your green tea! the stronger the better. and then add a few drops of Vitamin E oil.

Next step: mix well and then pour your green tea into the tray!

Third step: Place the plastic wrap to cover the green tea and then stick the toothpick, this is the trickiest part because it's hard to make the toothpick stand.. So what you wanna do is to refrigerate it first for like 30 mins and then stick the toothpick. Or since this is just an optional step, you can just leave it on the fridge as it is without the toothpick and the plastic wrap.

Here's what it should look like.. :)

You can use this Green tea toner atleast once or twice everyday.. I prefer using this after washing my face in the morning and then before bed. I massage this on my face in small circles as I go..

This is really good for de-puffing the face, and constricting large pores plus it brightens the skin and reducing dark under eye circles. Hope you find this helpful beauties and tell me if you've tried this before! :)

Facial massage (Jason Vit E Oil review)

Sunday, September 22, 2013

Hello beauties, today I will be sharing y'all this special oil right here.. this is honestly one of my holy grail products. It's called the Jason Vitamin E Oil.. This is what I use whenever I massage my face, or just around my eyes because it really helps with fine lines. And unlike any other oil, this absorbs right away!

You can buy this at Healthy Options for like Php650 (?) or $13

I personally like this vitamin e oil.. it smells so good like a lovely sweet almond oil. We all know that Vitamin E is a fat soluble which helps fight free radicals. I've been a long time fan of Vitamin E. Whenever I have a spot on my face or even a scar, I would always put Vitamin E even when I was a kid. I just love love Vitamin E. It has a lot of benefits that can beautify you in an instant!
What I really love about this oil though is that, not only it's a pure Vitamin E but it also has other unique essential oils like the sunflower oil, almond oil, apricot, avocado, Seed oil, Rice bran oil, wheat germ and some other kinds of beauty oils.. It's like a one stop miracle oil.. All of the best beauty oils are just here. It's so good!! I use this with just about anything.. my face, lips, hands, legs, masks, scrub (as seen here) etc. and since this oil has a thick consistency, a little comes a long way so I also use this whenever I do facial massages.. Just make sure to use just a few drops and mix it with your emulsion or anything that you can massage your face with.

This facial massage that I do is really good for de-puffing the face, toning and lifting..
it also helps remove water retention. And helps with fine lines. :)

Hope you find this helpful and let me know if you have tried this Vitamin E oil! x

Heatless mermaid curls tutorial - My School Hair Routine! :)

Sunday, September 8, 2013

I've been getting a lot of questions lately about how I do my mermaid curls that I'm wearing a lot in school these days. And today, I thought about finally sharing it with you guys..

First thing that you should know about me is that-- I am naturally curly. I was born with curly hair but I would always have it rebonded or relaxed because I find it easier for me to wear my hair effortlessly in school if it was straightened. We all know that it's much harder to style a curly hair rather than the straight one. But this year, I decided to just embrace my curls. It's all about loving your own, and going au naturel.

First off, gather up your different hair products and then take a shower. You kinda want to do this at night.. because this heatless curling routine is an overnight process.

Banapple (my ultimate comfort food)

Saturday, September 7, 2013

I just want to share with y'all this cute little restaurant that I really really love. I haven't really blogged about Banapple because I dine here a lot but I saw these photos on my album so I thought I should finally blog about this amazing resto. If you've been following me on instagram, you might have noticed my posts about banapple all the time. haha Banapple is a place where I could eat like crazy and never regret anything. They serve really good food that is also good for sharing! and I honestly think that I probably tasted every meal in their menus.. that's how crazy I am with this resto. (my boyfriend also loves banapple) Such a shame I don't go on a diet.  Yup especially if were talking about Banapple! haha I just can't help it.
These photos were taken probably last month.. I ate here with Nico and Pauline. And that reminds me I shall visit again soon because well... it's been awhile I guess. Anyways...
Banapple's interior is quite homey and I love the fact that they painted the walls with lively colors.. it makes people happy while dining. Or maybe it's just me. :))
Baked creamy penne (Php200)  "A well-loved dish of luscious white cheese sauce and meaty tomato sauce, with al dente penne pasta and sauteed Hungarian sausage, served with pesto bread."
Savory Tuna Pie (Php150) - served with chunky potato salad.  Like oh my god.. this pie is amazing and this is my ultimate comfort food! just writing about this pie makes my mouth water. So so good!
yum yum potato salad!

Lasagna Roll-ups (Php195) - "Herbed cream and parmesan cheeses fill al dente lasagna wide strips, are rolled up, and smothered with our classic tomato meat sauce and and mozerella cheese." Also my ultimate favorite.. probably one of the best lasagna I have ever tasted! superb!
Migs Gallabergher (Php180) - "Juicy and herby all-beef patty on mixed greens, topped with our special garlic - sour cream - barbecue sauce and lots of sliced onions and blanketed by melted cheese and gooey mozzarella."

I definitely wanna visit at banapple again because I am srsly craving to eat here soon!

Tea Time: Yogi Green Tea Super antioxidant! (A tea review)

Monday, September 2, 2013

I bought two new green tea as I said on my previous blog post. And tonight I will be reviewing about this YOGI green tea that I bought from the healthy options at Robinsons magnolia just last week.
I bought this for Php259 and it has 16 tea bags inside. Yogi has many sorts of Green tea flavors like Green tea blueberry (slimming), Green tea energy, Green tea Goji berry, Green tea kombucha and decaf, Green tea lemon ginger and lotsa more! but I chose this one because I'm actually looking for a green tea that has antioxidant.. I know all the green tea has antioxidants but this one has super antioxidant. Like it's solely created and mixed with other tea leaves that are rich with antioxidants to create a perfect green tea full of youthfull goodness.. If that makes any sense.. Whatever! The name itself was just a winner for me so I bought this! haha

Green tea has been known for its healing properties, and here are some of  the benefits: via bluesky
1. Heart health: reducing the risk of hearth attack and lowering bad cholesterol.
2. Oral Health: antibacterial properties, gum disease protection, dental plaque prevention
3. Weight control / Fitness: boosts metabolic rate
4. Mental health: alleviates headache, protects against memory loss, improves attention and focus
5. Skin health: prevents skin aging by protecting against inflammation from excessive sun exposure
6. Daily Life: L-theanine (amino acid) in green tea may alleviate stress & anxiety, may protect against pollen allergies
7. Disease Prevention: may prevent and combat Type 2 Diabetes, helps fights rheumatoid arthritis, has been shown to improve bone health
8. Immune Support: boos immunity through Vitamins C & E, may aid in digestion, may protect against respiratory infections.
9. Cancer Prevention: antioxidants fight damaging free radicals, has been shown to slow the growth of tumors

I love that Yogi has different inspirational quotes on each tea bags.. I was actually quite kilig (blushed) when I read the quote.. "Love is to live for each other.." it made me miss my boyfriend so much.. It's's hard being in a long distance relationship. Whew! I'm gunna see him soon though. yay go me! :p

Anyways, I brewed mine for about 3 mins...

Green tea has this tendency to be over powering, so the secret to a really good tea is you must know how to brew it properly. Plus make sure that you don't just pour a newly boiled hot water right away into the cup because the tea bag will expand thus making it difficult for the tea flavors to come out. What you can do is you can just pour the water first then lower the tea bag, or you can use a spoon to expel the air out from the bag gently. What matters most though is you must know your own brewing time, and that should be enough.

my thoughts about this tea:
I personally like this green tea, although I can taste a bit ginger tea flavor in it and some flowery smelling leaves. My sister didn't like it that much.. but I reminded her that green tea isn't actually supposed to be yummy, after all you're all about the antioxidant and benefits in it right? hence, I think it's hard to actually get a really nice smelling and decent green tea.. I think the best green tea for me would always be my TWG silvermoon tea! but all in all, this yogi green tea super antioxidant is not bad at all. I actually really really like it especially when it's cold.. I put honey on it and pour the tea (while it's hot) into the ice cubes. That's the proper way of making a cold tea by the way.. Preparing the tea via these methods will preserve the taste, aroma, color and health benefits of the tea. :)

You ladies, care to share some of your favorite green tea? x

Chef's noodle part 2 and 3! :)

We decided to eat again at Chef's noodle last thursday because we wanted to try their combo meals.. We had this tuna sandwich with sushi good for 4 persons for only Php300! It was amazing! and so affordable.
The sushi was okay and I was a bit full after like 4 of them because it was big and had lots of rice in it.

TEA time! :)

Hello beauties, today I am going to have a little haul about my TEAS at home! I love tea and I just keep looking for a great tea every now and then.. I just can't have enough Teas at home okay? :)) I always need to go out and try out different teas that could probably change my life. lol

Lately, I've been into buying green teas.. I love green tea because it's full of antioxidants and can also help with wrinkles and other signs of aging plus lotsa benefits. Although I'm not really a fan of the taste of green teas.
So last Saturday, I went to the Healthy options to look for a greentea! and then I saw these little teapots with warmer.. so cute! I tried the tea in the middle and I think it's called "BE ACTIVE" tea? It's so goood...  but I didn't buy it because I was actually looking for a green tea ofcourse! and I'm glad I found one... :)

I have blogged about my other TEAS at home so I won't be going into the details anymore.
First off, I have my red velvet chocolate Tea that I also bought from Healthy options. I blogged about it here. It's my personal favorite because it's so yummy! especially with milk.

and then I have this DETOX tea from mark's and spencer, I drink this tea whenever I feel like I need some detox.. especially when I am so stressed. I blogged about this tea here.

and my all time favorite out of all the teas I have... TWG'S Silvermoon tea! I love love love this Tea! especially the taste. Plus it's a green tea! This a must have for other tea addicts out there.

and ofcourse my two new green teas that I recently purchased which I will blog about separately later. :)
