Mario Badescu Glycolic Toner (Review)

Saturday, January 10, 2015

At long last, I can finally review this toner from Mario Badescu that I have recently discovered. I love a good toner, and this one is the bomb(dot)com..

"Help soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles while smoothing the skin with the anti-aging ingredients found in our Glycolic Acid-based toner. Glycolic Acid and the Alpha Hydroxy Acid found naturally in Papaya Extract help accelerate skin cell turnover for younger-looking skin. Aloe Vera is added to soothe your complexion. Alcohol free.
HOW TO USE: Morning and evening after cleansing, apply to face with a cotton ball or pad, wiping in an outward direction. Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes, rinse well with water.

 Aqua (Water,Eau),Propylene Glycol, Glycolic Acid,Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract,Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice,Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane,Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate,PPG-26-Buteth-26,Ethylhexyl Salicylate,PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil,Parfum (Fragrance),Sodium Chloride,Methylparaben,Propylparaben,Diazolidinyl Urea,CI 42090 (Blue 1),CI 45410 (Red 28),CI 19140 (Yellow 5)"

I've always always wanted to try an exfoliating toner as I find that my skin tends to look cakey and oily if I don't exfoliate often.. I was so glad to have picked this up from Luxola as I have heard a lot of good things about this toner. I do suffer from hormonal breakouts from time to time and it gets really annoying to have those zits.. thankfully, eversince I've started using this it helps my skin at bay.

USAGE: I use this toner almost every morning and night, this might sound kind of harsh for the skin as this contains glycolic acid.. but fear not! because this toner is actually really really mild. I use this in the morning because it helps awaken my skin and kind of brightens it at the same time. I find that my skin softens too, so it creates a really nice canvass for the makeup. And at night, same thing, this makes my skin super supple and amazing. But I have to warn you not to get this too close to your eyes because it stings like cray. Also, avoid the eye are because it has glycolic acid that can dry up your under eye as it's the most sensitive part of the face.

SCENT: The scent is pretty fantastic. I thought when I saw this, oh because it has glycolic acid this might have a weird scent to it, or something really really strong.. but I was wrong!! The scent is nothing like an acid would smell like, it's rather very soothing and really divine! To me, it smells kind of luxurious and fresh.. I just love the scent of this.

PACKAGING: Packaging wise, I really like that it's super clean looking and nothing too fancy schmancy. I like that you can just open this thingy and let the product comes out, because of this I can literally measure how much product I wanted to use.

I also appreciate that the life shelf is indicated in the packaging as well..
It says here that this is good for 6 months time. Which I think is pretty reasonable.
You can also choose a product that is more suitable for your skin. In this case, I got the Dry (D) and Sensitive (S). I know my skin is more of like a combination one, but this works pretty well too.

So all in all, this is a good toner and I would very much recommend this especially to those with problematic skin.. although I wouldn't recommend this to really wounded skin because it stings like cray especially if you have recently popped zits.

This is good for acne prone skin to help keep their skin at bay like it did to my skin. I do have breakouts from time to time but this helps a lot to lessen it.

If you wanted to see the rest of my skincare, that will be up very very soon! :)
